When you toss a pebble in the water a ripple of movement will happen. There is no way to prevent it; it is a law of nature. When you “move” in this world, you will create a ripple effect that touches those around you, in a positive or negative way. But we have the power of God’s presence in our lives.
“In Him we live and move and have our being” Acts 17:28
“If we walk in the light as He is in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Christ His Son cleanses us from all unrighteousness.” 1 Jn 1:7
We may have no idea how far the ripple will go. Let me share one example: I would guess you have never heard of Edward Kimbal. He was a shoe salesman in the mid-1800s. While working in the stock room, he shared his faith with a young man named Dwight. Mr. Kimbal was just living and moving in his being in Christ, not totally understanding the ripple effect of what took place in that stockroom.
Mr. Kimbal had no idea, but we now know that young man was Dwight L. Moody! We have all been touched by the life and works of Mr. Moody and it does not end there. You can follow this ripple from those who were touched through Moody, directly to Billy Graham! The ripples continue.
To think that it started with a conversation in a stockroom. What about our conversations? Are we moving in His being in us? Are we walking in the light? If we are, we will in our everyday walk, leave behind us a glorious ripple effect.
