Whenever I look up in the sky and see a beautiful rainbow, I am reminded that God put it there for me and as a sign to all believers. Of course, science is behind what creates a rainbow, and I respect science. Light passes into water droplets, which bend the light. When that light reflects inside the droplet, it separates its wavelengths, which makes color. God is the scientific Mastermind. But, for the believer, we know that in Genesis 9-13-17, God tells us he will put a bow in the cloud as a promise that He would never destroy the Earth again with water. This promise is a reminder of God’s great covenant with his people.
There are approximately 8,810 promises of God in the Old Testament. Some promises are conditional, such as Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and shall not faint.” Some blessings are for all humanity.
We are privileged to have a beautiful love letter from our Heavenly Father. He has left us with so many promises and guidance for life in His Holy book. Aren’t you curious to seek out his promises and trust His faithfulness to bring them to pass in our lives? What a joy it is to walk with our Lord through this journey we call life. We are truly blessed.
