Selah

Selah!

Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

Two of the names of Jesus are the “Truth” and the “Rock of Offense”.  Interesting, isn’t it? The truth often offends us. Sometimes our first response to a truth is to reject or protest it. But if we give it a little time to sink in, it proves valuable. There is a word in Psalms and Habakuk that means to pause, think on it, and weigh it in the balance for the value of it. That word is “Selah!”

Learn the value of truth, don’t become easily offended by it, appreciate its worth and apply it to your life.  The next time you hear the truth, Selah!  Pause, think on it, weigh it in the balance for the value of it.  Allow this to become a principle that will profit your life!
