Fear

Boo! Let’s talk about Fear

Most of us have experienced fear. But where does it come from?

Sometimes fear comes from unbelief. Do I really believe what God says, who He is and what He plans for my life?

I never feared that my darling Gary would leave me or didn’t love me. I knew his character. He had always been faithful and loving. There was no reason not to believe. Our belief system is very instrumental in determining our direction in life. So, if we are having a lot of fear about things, maybe it’s a belief problem. God is trustworthy – He’s perfect – He never makes a mistake – You can attach any superlative to Him and it will be accurate.

Here’s what He says about you:

Galatians 4:7, “Therefore, you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.”

You’re one of His kids! You are in relationship with the King. There’s no one higher than that. Whatever a King says goes – period. So, what does the King say that you can believe to keep you from fear?

Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord YOUR God will be with you where you go.”

Isaiah 43:1, “…Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned YOU BY NAME, you are MINE.”

Isaiah 41:13, “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”

There are so many other assurances of His constant love and care in His Word. Look them up and let His words overwhelm you.

Believe God! Believe what He says. Believe who He is. Believe in the plans He has ordered for you. Give fear a swift kick in the teeth!

There….that felt good!
