Acceptance

Acceptance

The human need for acceptance explains why criminal gangs are replete with members, as well as clubs, cults, and many other entities. We ALL want and need acceptance. We ALL dread rejection.

Ever walk into a room of strangers and NO ONE approached to welcome or engage you in conversation? It’s so awkward and unsettling. A warm smile, words of acknowledgment go a long way.

Guess what? Our enemy knows this. One of his most effective weapons is isolation and haranguing us with lies. “You’re not acceptable!” “You don’t fit in!” Here’s what the truth in God’s Word teaches: Menaces to acceptance include the lie of condemnation. The truth is that we can’t “out-God” God. There is only ONE standard, and that is His standard. Condemnation accuses, “There is no basis for acceptance.”

God answers, “I have provided the basis for acceptance.”

We can NEVER be holy enough. We don’t even have to try. We are clothed in His righteousness. We are accepted through the sacrifices Jesus made at Calvary.

Romans 15:7, “Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.”

I John 3:1, “See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children and that is what we are!”

We are accepted into His family. Accepted to carry His name. Accepted to do His will.

No one is ever turned away from God’s family. No one is ever not accepted!
