Adversity…like it or not, we all have to deal with adversity at different points in our lives. Adversity can come wrapped in many different packages, but the cure is always the same – the Word of God. The problem comes when we allow things to become too personal. Making it personal causes us to project things and magnify the circumstances above the solution. That does not mean that we will never experience pain or discomfort or emotions. Romans 5:3-4: “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope…”
God uses adversity for production in our lives. II Corinthians 4:17 says, “For our light and momentary affliction, which is for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…” God actually takes the adversity and puts it on His payroll. The adversity is employed by God to produce the glory of God. What would have been produced in your life – flesh, anger, resentment, bitterness is replaced with endurance, character and hope which glorifies the Spirit of God living inside of you.
Allow the Word of God to change your view of adversity as an opportunity for God’s glory to be revealed…IN YOU!
