Are you one of those people who wake up energetic and focused? Perhaps, you are the other extreme (like me), despising the blaring rudeness of the morning alarms, hitting snooze multiple times, and desperate for intravenous coffee?
Each new morning brings familiar routines—coffee brewing, tasks and texts waiting, someone needing something. It’s easy to slip into autopilot, letting the day pass in a blur of responsibilities. But as believers, we are called to something more intentional. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him,” Colossians 3:17 (NIV).
Colossians 3:17 gently reminds us that everything we do can be an offering to God. Not just the spiritual moments or the big decisions, but the daily, ordinary things: folding laundry, making dinner, answering a phone call with kindness, choosing patience in a stressful moment.
Our daily purpose isn’t something we have to hunt for or earn. It’s already wrapped into our life, as long as we live it with Him and for Him. That doesn’t mean we won’t have moments of confusion or days that feel pointless. But it does mean we can continually recenter our hearts, asking, “Lord, how can I honor You in this moment?” Today, remember: Your purpose isn’t just out there somewhere in the distance. It’s here. It’s now. It’s in how you show love, pursue peace, speak truth, and reflect Christ, right where you are.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for this day and the purpose You’ve placed in it. Help me not to rush through the hours, but to walk through them with You. Let every word and action be done in Your Name with gratitude and faith.
