In the context of today, I can imagine what those words might mean to you…but not so to God.
He showed me a very different take on “super spreader events.” Every word we speak, every action we take are “events” that have the very real potential of indeed becoming a “super spreader.”
Consider social media and the word viral. There is a viral spread of opinions, anger and misinformation on every media platform.
But it is also a place to spread hope, joy, peace and the love of Jesus.
It is a choice we must make with every post, or comment we make.
What about everyday moments from a smile to a conversation, to an action we take?
Perhaps words we failed to speak, things we did not do.
Those too, can become life events that become “super spreaders.”
Nothing begins and ends with us. We affect the people in our lives, who then may affect other people who are not in our lives.
I am convinced that we are largely unaware of just how much of an impact, for good or evil we have. We may think we have such a small circle of influence, but each of those people in our circle have their circle of influence.
Even a small pebble thrown into the water has a rippling effect.
As believers, we have an awesome responsibility placed on us to choose life! (In our words and actions) To walk in the light, as He is the light. We are called to be the light of the world.
We are called to be super spreaders of the good news of the Gospel.
