Overload

Overload

Overload doesn’t always come from one big thing, but many small things that stack up. It’s the silent kind of “overwhelm” that doesn’t always show on the outside, but you know it’s there because your soul feels noisy, and your heart and body do not rest.

You are not simply tired, you are burdened.

In those moments, Jesus offers a gentle invitation to return to the One who holds everything together. Jesus is not impressed with all we do; he desires our hearts and surrender.

From the ends of the earth I call to you. I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

What I love about this verse is that it doesn’t pretend everything is fine. It confirms our weakness; it names the faint heart. King David wrote this psalm when he felt overwhelmed, weak, and far from God’s protection. This verse gives me permission to shout my surrender and confess that I need a higher place, a rock, and the eternal hope that only comes from Jesus.

Please take comfort in this verse and remember that it’s not us holding everything together.
