In our culture, the value of something is determined by the worth that is placed upon it by people, not necessarily its intrinsic worth. At an auction, a piece of left over toast eaten by a famous person was sold for thousands of dollars. Had that toast been eaten by you or me, it would have gone in the trash, without a thought of who had taken a bite out of it . The value of that piece of toast was completely a reflection of what some person was willing to pay for it . I am fairly certain you also think it absolutely ridiculous to put any worth on a half eaten piece of stale toast….no matter who had taken a bite out of it . I believe that our worth is seen by the price that was paid for us on the cross. And I am certain that Satan, perhaps even the angels, were aghast at the worth placed on fallen man. But, oh how much He loved us! So, look in the mirror and see yourself as God does. Then, look at your neighbor and see them as God does. The gavel has landed, the auction is finished and we have been bought for a very great price!
