Hold Your Position And Watch

Hold Your Position and Watch

2 Chronicles 20:15 And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but, God’s…’

Are you weary today? Let the story of Judah encourage you. King Jehoshaphat was faced with three different enemies who were charging the kingdom all at the same time. He pulled the people together and sought the Lord for direction. After seeking the Lord and being obedient to God’s direction, Judah was able to stand still and watch the three enemy armies defeat one another. They never even had to fight, instead they stood firm, held their position and watched God at work. Not only did they not have to fight in the battle but God allowed them to take all the spoils of war – numbers, goods, clothing and precious things. It took them three days to collect all the spoils (2 Chronicles 20:25). That’s not all. The testimony of victory spread throughout every kingdom and God received glory! (2 Chronicles 20:29).

If you find yourself in an impossible situation today follow the example God gives us in Chronicles. Seek his direction. Be obedient. Stand firm and hold your position. Watch God work in your situation. “The battle is not yours but, God’s”. Trust Him.
