Ephesians 4:1-3 – Paul implores believers to endeavor (to exert oneself to do or effect something; to make an effort; to strive) to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, to walk worthy of our calling with ALL lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love.
This is all necessary to keep the unity of the Spirit. Keeping the unity, even among believers is an endeavor. It will take our collective ALL. This is impossible in the natural.
But, there is a verse 7 in that same chapter and it reads, “to each one of us grace is given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” If we have a small idea of Christ’s gift of grace, our measure of grace to others will be small. But, if we can grasp the immeasurable abundance of grace available to us, we will be a force of unity in the Spirit that will change us…that will change the church…that will change the world. It will take ALL of us giving our all, tapping into the gift of grace available to us and then releasing that same measure of grace to others.
