Salvation is not “fire Insurance”. The problem with insurance policies is that there are premiums to pay on a regular basis or your insurance is cancelled. Insurance companies will also drop you without a thought if there are too many pay outs on your policy. This is the religious spirit that is rampant in the church. We work ourselves to spiritual death with religious deeds to keep our policy active. We are very sin conscious rather than God conscious, needing to make sure we do not find our selves dropped from our policy. We are hoping to hold out until we can cash in the policy at our death.
As believers, we have an assurance covenant. The covenant is sealed with the blood of Christ. “We are bought with a (priceless) price”. As the hymn writer wrote, “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh what a foretaste of glory divine!”
In this life, the here and the now, we are to partake of this glory . We are to live as those created in Christ Jesus to bring heaven to earth. Jesus Christ is the hope of glory in us! This is our blessed assurance on which we stand and have victory!
