Anchored Up

Anchored UP!

When I think of how an anchor works, I think of a ship that is safely secured by a chain to an anchor that is lodged beneath a large rock at the bottom of the sea. The ship is anchored down. But, the scripture reveals something about our hope in Christ that is amazing and so assuring! Our hope is actually anchored up! What does that mean? How is that even possible? Glad you asked!

Hebrews 6:19-20a (Amplified) says, “(Now) we have this (hope) as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul (it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it – a hope) that reaches farther and enters into (the very certainty of the Presence) within the veil, where Jesus has entered in for us (in advance)…”

This hope cannot break down because it is not anchored down. This hope is anchored up! This hope is the anchor of the soul and it is anchored up within the veil of His presence and reaches to where I am! This anchor will not fail because it is held by the Solid Rock, Christ Jesus! Hallelujah! He is my Rock and He cannot fail! Be encouraged today that your soul is anchored up into the very Kingdom of God!
