“… In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”
Romans 8:37 is a very empowering scripture, but only when we fully understand it. This scripture says that “in all these THINGS, we are more than conquerors. The “things” referred to in this text are described in previous verses as tribulation, distress, persecution, nakedness, famine and the list goes on. This doesn’t sound much like the path to “conquering”. It actually sounds pretty difficult to me.
But, I have learned that God’s incredible plan of empowering me through allowing these various, difficult “things” actually advances me. I have learned that the process of going through these painful things builds faith, fosters trust and convinces me of my identity and position in Christ!
Verse 37 says it’s in these very things (tribulation, distress, persecution, etc…) that, “…we are MORE than conquerors through Him who loved us.” What does that mean? How are we MORE than conquerors? Isn’t being a conqueror enough? How are we MORE than conquerors?
The answer is plain! Through Him! A very wise man once told me we can be MORE than conquerors because: God conquers, we get to possess what He conquers, and, because we possess what He conquers, our children inherit!
Wow! Mind blowing! His plan is bigger than we thought and includes more benefits than we ever could have imagined. God conquers, we possess, our children inherit! That’s how we are MORE than conquerors!
