“He shall speak words against the Most High, And shall WEAR OUT the saints of the Most High…”(Daniel 7:25).
Do you sometimes feel worn out these days? Me too, and I’m hearing that from others. It’s not necessarily a one-time, traumatic event but more the harassing pressure of small things in succession. It takes a toll on our well-being. The enemy wants to snuff out our fire. Our fire was not kindled by us but by Jesus. We are fire carriers.
Our job is to fuel our fire. How do we do that? Add fuel by prayer. Remember Lev. 6:13 where God’s people are told to keep a continual fire burning on the altar? Add fuel by making Godly decisions when you’re at a crossroads, where your faith is tested. Add fuel by framing everything in the light of eternity. The decisions you make now are for your children and grandchildren. King David added fuel by rehearsing his faith victories.
Don’t forsake assembling with other believers in church. Isolation is a fire extinguisher. Fuel your fire with love, patience, and humility. During pioneer days, folks carried fire with them. In case the future territory was without wood or consistently rainy, they had a source of fuel – which they shared. Love, patience, and humility are sparks that keep our fire going. They motivate us and pave the way for sharing our fire for God.
