In our culture, we’re accustomed to these messages on a host of products: expiration date; best if used by; one-year warranty – not responsible for damage; no return after 30 days. Permanent guarantees are never given.
Good news! Following are some guarantees from God – guarantees with no strings attached. A guarantee is a pledge to be fulfilled.
And since, according to Hebrews 6, God cannot lie, we can believe and trust every word, assured of His covenant for our salvation.
His guarantee is eternal! “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words WILL NOT pass away” (Mark 13:31)!
He won’t abandon me! “I will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).
I can be forgiven! “If you confess your sins, HE IS FAITHFUL to forgive your sins” (I John 1:9).
He won’t change His mind! “Jesus Christ, the SAME yesterday, today and FOREVER” (Hebrews 13:8).
Mercy is available! “…His compassions FAIL NOT, they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22).
God lavishes wisdom! “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…and IT SHALL be given him” (James 1:5).
He holds me accountable! “Those whom I love, I DISCIPLINE. So REPENT” (Revelation 3:19).
He guides my steps! “I WILL instruct you and teach you in the way you should go” (Psalm 32:8).
He offers a second chance! “Who is a God like you…who PARDONS sins and FORGIVES transgressions” (Micah 7:18).
He’s coming back! “It is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, GUARANTEEING what is to come” (II Corinthians 5:5).
God offers each of us a guarantee of everlasting love, forgiveness of sin when we repent, mercy each day, life instruction, discipline, pardon when we fail, and a forever future – no strings attached!
