I love the word connect and use it often. My desire is to connect, to truly join with others in heart, mind, spirit, and of course, laughter. My deepest connection is found within the church, with this community of people who
come together for worship, fellowship, and a sense of belonging as we seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
The idea of community comes from our sense of responsibility for one another. Through scripture, God encourages us to take care of and love our brothers and sisters.
Galatians 6:2 NIV “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Matthew 18:20 NIV
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
1 Peter 4:8-11 NIV
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
When we connect on a heart level, we fulfill the law of Christ. What comfort from these verses to know that which the Lord expects of us, He provides for us. All for His glory.
