How Does Your Garden Grow?

In Mathew 13 we read the parable of the Sower, and the different soil that the seeds fall on.
No pun intended, but there is so much to glean from this parable. Think about the different soils and how they apply to our lives.

The seeds that fell by the wayside:
Are there times we are given a message about the kingdom and we do not understand it, and what was sown in our hearts is snatched away by the enemy?

The seed that fell on rocky ground:
Are there times when we receive the Word with joy, but without any depth of roots? It lasts only a short time as the reality of the trouble and persecution that the Word may bring is realized.

The seed that fell among the thorns:
Are there times when the Word gets choked out because of the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth?

I certainly can see myself as having all of these soils in my life. Acknowledging that will allow the Lord to do His work and restore our hearts to the Good Soil…

The seed that fell on the Good Soil:
Then are the times when we hear the Word and understand it! We can produce a crop yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.

The seed’s ability to bring forth an abundant harvest is entirely based on the soil that if falls on. The amazing thing is that we are not responsible for what the seed can produce, but only the soil in which it falls.

God brings the increase as we bring Him a heart ready to receive His Word.
