Recently, my husband was speaking on the topic of worship. At the end of the service, the Lord spoke to me to speak to the people about worship. “You have a divided heart” is what I heard Him say.
We, as believers love God, but we love others things as well. We reserve worship for Sunday – a corporate affair where we sing, lift our hands and then “get back to our lives.”
Francis Chan said, “We never grow closer to God when we just live life. It takes deliberate pursuit and attentiveness.” Yes, so true! Worship is the words we speak, how we speak them, where we go, the attitude that we have, the way we handle conflict and stress, how we treat our families and friends and complete strangers. Worship to God is an offering of our very lives.
A friend recently shared, “There is no making time for God. There’s just devoting it to Him.” Surrendering our will is worship, offering our plans to Him is worship, allowing Him to exude through every daily situation and interaction is worship.
The posture of our daily, mundane lives is what will show the world that we are worshippers, not the music we make and the songs we sing on a stage. Our life is the stage, He is the star and we are privileged to bring Him glory each and every minute – in our homes, at work, in our families and at church with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
