Seek His Presence Continually

1 Chronicles 16:11 says, “Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually.” This verse has spoken to me for the past few months. The entire chapter is so good, but this verse just really stood out to me.

There are days that it seems so easy to continually praise our Heavenly Father and He feels so close. The truth is, every day should feel like that, but unfortunately we make it about ourselves. We think that His praise has to do with how good our day is. If we have a great day, we continually praise God and seek His presence. Should our day go terribly wrong, “Sorry God, I just don’t have it in me today.”

Do yourself a huge favor and say out loud, “It’s not about me.” Those five little words can set you free. Understand that His praise and glory should continually pour from your lips no matter what. Our God is faithful, powerful, loving and full of grace. Allow Him to show you more and more of who He is during your intimate worship time seeking His presence.

Last week, our Pastor gave us an incredible word on praise. During the service, I heard the voice of Holy Spirit speak to me. He said this: “Don’t let conviction create condemnation. Allow conviction to compel you to worship.” In other words, “There is nothing you can ever do that will separate you from me, your Father. If you mess up or feel far from me, let that conviction bring you closer.”

Romans 8:1 says “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”  Our sweet Holy Spirit brings about conviction in our lives and draws us in. I heard this so clearly, my eyes filled with tears and my spirit cried out to Jesus in thanksgiving. He is so good to us. He speaks to us when we seek Him.

I encourage you this week to seek His presence continually. Don’t let your days get away from you without giving praise to your Father.
